We are a group of writers, mostly Australian, who are asking for conversations about topics we all see on a day to day basis.
From technology questions to how we are evolving as a society, our articles are mean to create communication between our readers in a constructive way.
Some of our articles might age well and always be a question we should ask and some might be more related to current affairs.
We don't remove old posts, but may add updates or edits based on comments and feedback we receive.
Why We Remain Anonymous
All of our posts are uploaded with the author as an anonymous figure. The reason we do this is not what you think.
None of our writers are trying to hide their opinions, but what we want to encourage is debate about the subject, not debate based around who might hold that opinion.
Without age, social standing, race, sex or any other identifiable factor, we can have the conversation we want to have without any judgement as to why it was formed. It's just a question - no more, no less.
At Notes From The Sideline, we welcome discussion, disagreement and diverse perspectives. In fact, many of our articles are designed to challenge assumptions and encourage thoughtful debate.
However, there is a clear difference between disagreeing with an idea and attacking a person. We ask all readers to keep discussions respectful, constructive and civil. Personal attacks, hate speech, discrimination, harassment, threats or aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated.
Challenge the argument, not the individual. The best conversations happen when people can disagree without becoming disagreeable.
